Hawks Rise Elementary

Special Area

Special area includes Art, Music, and PE for all grades. Additional classes vary by grade level: Kindergarten Media; 1^st, 2^nd, and 4^th grades Guidance; and 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th grades STEM. Fifth-Grade Introductory String Orchestra is offered as a special class that meets every Tu/Th. Students rotate through special area classes on a 6-day (grades K – 3^rd & 5), or  7-day (4^th grade) schedule. Some classes are divided to accommodate this schedule, and to balance the number of students in each class. Each special area has activities unique to their curriculum. Music programs are presented to the community, student art work is presented in local art shows, 5th-grade string orchestra plays several concerts each year, and Jump Rope for Heart and Field Days are two activities in which all students participate, just to name a few of the exciting opportunities provided for our Hawks Rise students to broaden their skills beyond academics.
